Greek-American Reporter Trish Christakis Steals The Spotlight Courtside At NBA Playoffs

Trish Christakis has quickly become a social media star during this year’s NBA playoffs.

Christakis, a reporter for CBS News Miami, has been with the network since February 2022. The University of Illinois graduate has covered the NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals and MLB Draft among other sporting events.

Since she’s stationed in the Sunshine State, she’s usually reporting on the Miami Heat. On Tuesday, she officially said farewell to the team’s 2024-25 campaign.

“Year 3! What a season for the Miami Heat, thankful,” Christakis wrote on social media. “Thank you, Aaron Visions for snapping this pic during my last live shot this season!”

Christakis was wearing a black dress in the photo she shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Although this was supposed to be a simple farewell message after the Heat got swept in the opening round of the playoffs, it became her most-viewed post on social media. In less than 24 hours, she received over 8.2 million views.

Christakis gained thousands of social media followers after sharing this photo. Her popularity has reached the point where she’s the topic of conversation in the NBA world.

Some fans are applauding Christakis for all the work she’s done this NBA season. Others are being incredibly unfair and trying to diminish her accomplishments.

Over the past few hours, Christakis has become so popular that her older posts on Instagram are going viral.
