LeBron James made a major move in 2018 when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then, James has played a crucial role in reshaping the team’s identity, including leading them to a championship in 2020 and restoring their reputation as a winning franchise.

However, following the Lakers’ recent exit in the first round of the playoffs, speculation has started to swirl around the possibility of James leaving the team. Meanwhile, former NFL star Shannon Sharpe came forward to respond to the rumors. On his Nightcap podcast, Sharpe dismissed the idea that James is headed out of Los Angeles anytime soon.

“No, I don’t see it. He loves everything about LA. Savannah loves everything about LA. I don’t believe he goes back. Go back and do what? You play with Luka. I think he really loves the Lakers. I really think he loves living in LA. I think he loves all things LA. The weather is nice year-round. He don’t really have to have an overcoat,” Sharpe said.

“You know you can have a top down damn near year-round. You got water, you got beaches. I mean everything. His businesses are in LA. There’s really nothing for him not to like about LA,” he added.

LeBron James is nearing the end of an extraordinary NBA journey that has spanned over two decades. During that time, he has not only racked up championships and accolades but also inspired an entire generation of young players who look up to his game and leadership.

Among those rising stars is Duke standout and projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft Cooper Flagg. Flagg recently shared his admiration for James when asked which current NBA player he’d most like to team up with. Without hesitation, he named LeBron.

“LeBron. And I want to play against him, just because, I mean, it’s LeBron. Not a lot more people are going to get a chance to play with LeBron. So I think it would just be really good, cool to play against him,” Flagg said.

James also began his legendary career as the No. 1 overall pick in 2003 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His journey from a young star to a seasoned icon continues to influence the dreams of future stars like Flagg.
