Is a fresh start on the horizon for AJ Brown?

The Philadelphia Eagles have already made a decision on AJ Brown’s future, according to a new report.

Amid reports of a fractured relationship with teammate Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown had a disappointing season by his standards. The 28-year-old caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Eagles repeated as NFC East division champions, but they fell to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round. Brown was also a non-factor in that game with three receptions for 25 yards.

According to EJ Smith of PHLY Sports, all signs point toward a divorce between AJ Brown and the Eagles this offseason.

“Being here talking to people around league circles, it is obvious that there is an expectation that the Eagles will want to move on from him, or that A.J. will want to be elsewhere,” Smith said.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni relieved Kevin Patullo of his offensive coordinator duties after the loss to San Francisco. Longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland also resigned from his position.

With a Brown trade on the horizon, the Eagles are sure to look a lot different in 2026.

The good news for the Eagles is that they’ll have no issue finding a trade partner for Brown. Though his production has been off the last two seasons, he could easily re-emerge as a top-five wideout in a more pass-happy offense.

Josh Allen still needs a No. 1 receiver, so Brown makes perfect sense for the Buffalo Bills. The pressure is on GM Brandon Beane to make more win-now moves after curiously firing beloved head coach Sean McDermott.

The Pittsburgh Steelers need more receiving help, with DK Metcalf better suited as a No. 2 WR at this phase of his career. Maybe the Patriots would get bold and add Brown to the Drake Maye-led offense?
