Sophie Cunningham, whose season ended following a devastating knee injury, is not ready to fade into the background despite her circumstances.

Connecticut Sun guard Bria Hartley was the culprit who crashed into the Indiana Fever guard and caused her to tear her MCL.

Hartley, who was caught smiling after the injury, had her own string of bad luck. The team announced on Sunday that she would miss the rest of the season due to a meniscus tear she sustained in her right knee. It was the best thing going forward since there are just a handful of games left, and the Sun are out of the running for the postseason.

Just weeks after her season-ending injury, Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham was back on social media, sporting a new bikini and her new knee brace.

She took to TikTok lip-syncing and dancing to Reneé Rapp’s “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone” in a bikini.

On her Instagram story, the Fever guard posted two pictures: one in that same bikini and another showing her giving a warning to the league.

The 29-year-old was feeling a bit feisty as she wrote, “starting to feel like me again so y’all better watch tf out 🤫😏.”

Sophie Cunningham should be ready by the start of the 2026 season.

The 29-year-old averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 triples in 30 appearances this season before she suffered an MCL injury.

She showed how much of an option she could become during the absence of Caitlin Clark.

She spent the first six years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury, averaging 7.7 points per game throughout her time in Phoenix.

The more time she can get on the court with Clark, starting in 2026, it can unlock her next level of talent that will bode well for the Fever franchise.

As of now, Sophie Cunningham’s main focus is rehab and getting healthy enough to return to court.
