A third-and-long ball over the middle turned the Chargers’ opener into an injury watch. The catch was never secured. Meanwhile, Ladd McConkey stayed down after a violent collision with an Arizona defender and eventually walked toward the blue tent.
After the play, the Chargers listed him as questionable with a chest injury and later sent him toward the locker room. In the process, a sports physical therapist broke the same clip down and listed three possibilities.
As a result, the public note of a chest issue sat next to talk of a contusion, possible rib fractures, and internal organ damage. According to Dr. Evan Jeffries’s breakdown, the force of the shot is what should worry people.

Initially, McConkey looked completely unstoppable as Justin Herbert’s primary target in the passing game. Specifically, he hauled in five receptions for 82 yards to spark the offense. Furthermore, he scored a spectacular touchdown while averaging an impressive 16.4 yards per catch.
Unfortunately, his stellar afternoon took a devastating turn during that third-quarter injury. Although he walked off under his own power, medical trainers immediately escorted him to the locker room.
Meanwhile, the Chargers deeply missed his reliable presence and suffered a tough 26-14 loss.
The extent of his injury won’t be fully known until a complete MRI is done.
