The first start for Kyler Murray might’ve come to a swift end.
Initially, the home crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium roared with excitement as Murray took the field. However, his very first pass attempt of the regular season resulted in a catastrophic mistake. Facing a third-and-7 from Minnesota’s 34-yard line, the Packers’ defense generated immense, immediate pressure in the pocket. Consequently, a heavily rushed Murray threw a duck of a pass.
Instead of finding wide receiver Jauan Jennings, the underthrown pass sailed directly into double coverage. Green Bay defensive back Keisean Nixon easily intercepted the ball to ruin the opening drive completely.

A Vikings debut that already opened with a pick was turned into something worse before the first quarter could even settle.
The scoreboard was already showing Green Bay in front when a late shot ended a third-and-7 scramble. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray was on the grass at U.S. Bank Stadium with his helmet ripped away.

He also appeared to be convulsing on the field as medical personnel surrounded him.

Initially, many nervous fans feared the absolute worst when a heavy hit forced trainers out to Kyler Murray.
This immediate concern felt amplified because Murray spent almost the entire 2025 season recovering from a severe mid-foot sprain. That painful foot injury required an extensive eight-month rehabilitation process and ultimately ended his career with Arizona.
Murray was able to get to his feet and head to the locker room for more tests on his head.
