Cameron Brink didn’t wait long to address a narrative floating around about her WNBA career.

Brink, the No. 2 pick from the 2024 WNBA Draft, has been sidelined since June due to a torn ACL. The Stanford product finished her rookie year averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Even though Brink hasn’t returned to the hardwood yet, she made headlines in May for appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Her lifestyle off the court has at least one fan questioning her dedication to the Sparks.

“She should’ve been back on the court now, and tells me that if she put as much work into rehab as she puts into walking down red carpets and schmoozing, she’d be back by now,” a Sparks fan wrote on Instagram.

On Monday night, Brink fired back at this social media user’s comment.

Brink made it known that she’s working “incredibly hard” to get back on the hardwood.

“Usually I don’t give energy to this type of stuff but I have time today – I’m working INCREDIBLY hard every day. I would give anything to be out on the court right now,” Brink replied. “Basketball is my passion and everything to me…to say this you aren’t a real fan. Thank you to those who understand ACLs can take a year & giving me grace. I cannot wait until I get to play again.”

Last week, Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts told reporters that Brink is still doing non-contact drills. That’ll change as long as she continues making progress in her recovery.

The Sparks have not yet announced a return date for Brink.
