Lamar Odom was one of the best basketball players in the NBA. His life has been a complete hell ever since retiring. It has been filled with arrests and almost dying from a drug overdose.

The former NBA player is back in the news this week after he landed himself in jail. Odom was arrested in Las Vegas on Saturday on multiple charges, including driving under the influence. The 46-year-old was taken into custody by police early Saturday morning, according to TMZ.

In addition to the DUI charge, he’s also facing a slew of other charges. Lamar Odom has two traffic violations in connection with the incident. That includes driving more than 41+ miles per hour over the limit and improper lane change/failure to maintain lane.

Odom has been granted bail and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, March 17. According to the outlet, Odom remains in custody.

Former NBA champion Lamar Odom was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Las Vegas. His issues with drugs and/or alcohol continue to be a problem in his life. Odom, who won two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, has publicly discussed his past struggles with both.

He was previously arrested for DUI in 2013 and nearly died from an overdose in 2015. In 2025, his former wife, Khloe Kardashian, revealed that his late dad, Joe Odom, wanted to pull the plug on him. Odom had six heart attacks and 12 strokes at the time.

“I was there through it all,” she continued. “I didn’t leave you for four months. I got a staph infection because I lived in a hospital.”

Khloe also told him that Kobe Bryant “walked in when we had to do a lung surgery on you.”

Months after telling him that news, Lamar Odom continued being weird towards his ex-wife. He had been trying to get back with her for years, but she never would give him a second chance. To replace her, Odom paid for a sex doll that looked exactly like her.

Khloe said the situation was “demonic and unwell.” Lamar and Khloe tied the knot in 2009 but were done by 2013, with Khloe walking away from the marriage. She made that decision due to his drug use and cheating.
