‘The Voice’ Season 30 Finds Its Very Own Simon Cowell

Season 30 of The Voice is set to begin on September 21st, but fans are already excited about what is to come. There are two OG coaches and two brand new ones ready to bring the heat. However, one of the four is now being compared to former American Idol judge Simon Cowell, but who is it? Keep reading for all of the details that have been spilled.
The Voice Has Its Own Simon Cowell
Since The Voice has coaches rather than judges, no one is overly mean or cruel. The coaches aim to guide their team to success and make them feel like they are really trying their hardest. If anything, the coaches are mean to each other, which can be fun to watch. Over at American Idol, at least when the show first began, the three main judges were polar opposites. Paula Abdul was warm and mothering; Randy Jackson was chill but blunt; and Simon Cowell was straightforward, even if it was cold and made someone cry.

As The Voice Season 30 approaches and filming is underway, it seems that Queen Latifah has become the show’s Simon. This is her first season as a coach, but allegedly, she is really harsh. She does not hold back when giving feedback to contestants, and an insider added this:
“Queen Latifah was the biggest surprise. I mean, she’s Hollywood royalty, literally, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise but she has commanded this set like she’s been doing it since day one.”
There is a “maternal” sense that she has brought, which is great because there is an element of love that these hopefuls do need. By the same token, it does not appear that Queen Latifah is coddling them by any means. However, with her harsh criticism comes a goal, and that is that she wants them to excel on the show and far beyond. Ultimately, she was branded the new Simon Cowell:
“I’d say her and Adam were the strictest with their feedback. Queen Latifah was basically like the Simon Cowell of the group, giving harsher critique that garnered some gasps from the audience, but overall the crowd loved her.”
Riley Is Lost On The Show
Country fans are thrilled to have Riley Green as a part of The Voice. However, it is alleged that he is still trying to figure out what his position is on the show. He is not the only country singer, as Kelly Clarkson is back, but he is the only male one. Riley recently appeared on Theo Von’s podcast and was not well receievd so that may be a hindrance when Season 30 starts. For now, Queen Latifah seems to be doing the best and is ready to take the coaching game head-on.
