Slow-Motion Footage Shows The Exact Moment When Something Popped & Caleb Williams Went Down With Horrific Non-Contact Injury [VIDEO]
Caleb Williams went down screaming on a routine play.
Caleb Williams has become a major worry for Chicago following what appears to be a pretty serious injury.
The Bears rolled into their matchup against Minnesota off a dominant showing the week before.
Caleb Williams had already flashed his usual elusiveness against the Vikings. He juked a defender out of his cleats earlier in the game, setting up a field goal on a night the offense otherwise struggled to find rhythm.
That rhythm turned into a scare in the fourth quarter.
Williams rolled left on first-and-goal near the Vikings’ 6-yard line, then slid to the ground for no gain. He immediately began screaming in pain, with no defender anywhere near him on the play.
The Injury Happened Without Any Contact At All

Trainers rushed onto the field as Williams stayed down. He couldn’t put weight on his right leg and needed help getting to the sideline.
He still found a way to show fight. Williams pumped his fist and gave the crowd a thumbs-up as he reached the tunnel, according to reporters at the game.
A slo-mo clip has since surfaced online, giving fans a better view of what happened.

Veteran injury analyst David Chao weighed in shortly after, writing on X that the injury appeared to be a “right hamstring strain” based on the video. He added that Williams was carted to the locker room and called it a “hazard of wet weather and early season” football.

Backup Tyson Bagent entered the game in relief. The moment marked the first time in Williams’ career that he missed a significant snap for any reason.

The injury stood out partly because the play looked so routine. Williams has spent this season making defenders miss with regularity, and last week’s outing included a pointed message for Panthers coach Dave Canales after Chicago’s 59-37 blowout win.
That win came one week after Williams urged his teammates to celebrate with more physical contact, a comment that went viral for reasons he probably didn’t intend. Sunday’s injury carried a far more serious tone.
No official diagnosis had been announced by the time this article was written. Chicago’s offense managed just three points through four quarters against Minnesota, making Williams’ absence even more costly late in the game.
Fans online reacted immediately to the audio from the broadcast, with many describing his screams as some of the most difficult they’ve heard on a football field. The Bears now wait on further testing to determine how long their franchise quarterback will be sidelined.
