Azzi Fudd made WNBA history Friday night. Minutes later, social media had moved on to joking about her celebration, or the one that was forced on her.
The Dallas Wings rookie became the first rookie ever to win the WNBA’s 3-Point Contest, defeating Bridget Carleton with a dominant 30-point final round in Chicago.
After the victory, Fudd barely had time to celebrate before teammates emptied water bottles over her head. The video shows her screaming and laughing as water runs down her face and jersey.

While many fans celebrated Fudd’s historic performance, others admitted the celebration looked unintentionally awkward out of context. We’re not going to get into that, but you get it.

The perceived raunchy moment came after an unforgettable night for Fudd, who became the first rookie to capture the event since the WNBA introduced the competition.
The No. 1 overall pick scored 30 points in the championship round and collected the $60,000 winner’s prize, plus a $40,000 bonus from Aflac.
