NFL Sideline Reporter Draws Backlash For Bold ‘Monday Night Football’ DressLaura Rutledge (Photo Via Instagram/@auramrutledge)

Laura Rutledge was looking a bit different on “Monday Night Football” when she wore a custom blue suit, and fans quickly started debating about her outfit. The ESPN host and NFL sideline reporter was present during the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers game and shared her look on Instagram story, giving credit to the designer.

Rutledge is known for her polished style on TV. She hosts “NFL Live,” appears on major SEC Network shows, and reports from the field on Monday nights. Most fans discuss her reporting and interviews, but her outfits often grab a lot of attention.

This time, she wore a sharp blue pinstripe suit with a light blue shirt. Her designer posted about it online and thanked Rutledge for trusting her. She wrote, “I am so fortunate to be part of styling and creating suits for Laura Rutledge,” she wrote. “Beautiful inside and out is an understatement.”

Rutledge stayed focused on the game, but fans still had plenty to say about her outfit. Some fans even said the suit looked a bit old-fashioned.

One outlet said, “Laura Rutledge is young, but some of her outfits have been quite dated. These looks were definitely not home runs on the famous sports reporter.”

Another fan pointed out the lapel details. “Fashion police questions. Joe vs. Troy: discuss. Also, Laura Rutledge has two buttonholes in her lapel, both empty. Thoughts?” the fan wrote.

Few defended Rutledge also, saying people should focus on her work, not her clothes. She has basically earned her spot at ESPN through her reliable reporting. Many praised her coverage and said the suit didn’t change how well she did her job. Recently, ESPN leaders also warned several top hosts, including Rutledge, to cut ties with Papaya Gaming, the company behind a popular solitaire app now facing a lawsuit.

Rutledge hasn’t responded to any of the reactions. She almost never comments on outfit criticism and keeps her attention on football.

Although her Monday night look created plenty of conversation, but her reporting led the way as always.
