Shaquille O’Neal’s Ex-Teammate Reveals Hilarious Story of Using Halle Berry to Help Him Break His Free-Throw Barrier (Source: Imagn)

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most dominant players to ever play in the NBA. However, he had one gaping hole in his game: free throws. On Thursday, his former teammate Robert Horry revealed a hilarious story of using Halle Berry to help Shaq overcome his struggles at the line.

Clutch Points shared a clip of Horry’s appearance from Fan Duel’s show ‘Run it Back’ on X (formerly Twitter) as the former NBA champion opened up on his crazy tactic to help Shaq break his free-throw barrier.

“I told him a multitude of things. Because Shaq and I used to shoot free throws together almost every day after practice. So I (have) seen the runs he would go on 10, 15, 20 free throws on a row,” Horry explained. “I would just go up to him sometimes and be like ‘Yo man Halle Berry over there she said you make these, you can go out with her.’”

Horry continued to reveal things he told Shaq at the free-throw line, as he hoped it would help him shoot better.

“I even told him sometimes, ‘you miss these free throws we gon lose and you are going to be considered a flop’ and he’d look at me like crazy. I would just tell him these things to try and get his mind off of it or just make him laugh so he can be like when we used to during practice.”

Horry was a serial winner during his 16-year stint in the NBA, winning seven championships. The forward won back-to-back NBA titles with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995 before winning the three-peat with Kobe and Shaq as a Laker.

His final NBA title came with the San Antonio Spurs in 2007, making him one of the most decorated players in NBA history.

Shaquille O’Neal once shared how Halle Berry stunned him at the free-throw line: “My favorite moment in time.”

Shaquille O’Neal’s humor and towering presence have long made him a fan favorite. Yet, even the Big Diesel has been left spellbound a few times himself; one such moment came at Madison Square Gardens and involved Halle Berry.

During an appearance on the Kelly Clarkson show in 2021, O’Neal revealed how Berry stunned him at the free-throw line.

“My favorite moment in time, New York Madison Square Garden.I’m at the free throw line, and I’m looking up the stairs. And it’s Halle Berry just walking down the stairs,” Shaq said.

“My heart started fluttering.I get nervous.I call a time-out.Coach says, “What are you doing?”I was like, “Shut up. Halle Berry’s here to watch me. Everybody, please, make sure I get the ball.”Came out, and guess what?I actually made the free throw,” he continued.

The moment not only gave fans a good laugh but also showed that even Shaq, the most dominant force in basketball, wasn’t immune to Halle Berry’s magic.
