Ryan Guzman made his debut as Eddie Diaz, a firefighter and paramedic, in 9-1-1 Season 2. He has appeared in 112 episodes so far, although fans have been speculating that the actor might depart the show. In a new series of Instagram Stories on his social media account, Guzman fed into the rumors with two unexpected clips.

A new trailer for the next episode of 9-1-1 gives fans a look at the aftermath of this season’s unexpected d3ath of a major character.
One of the clips showed him on the Fox lot, revealing that it was his last day on set. He also noted he would miss Stage 6, where the show is filmed, showing a plaque with the show’s name alongside other films and television series filmed at the lot.
“Well, it officially happened. It’s the last day on this lot,” Guzman said in the first clip while walking on the lot and later showing the plaque of all the productions that have filmed on Stage 6 on the Fox lot. “9-1-1 — part of the legacy. Stage 6, I’ll miss ya. Seven years. That’s crazy.”
He later added a second clip to his stories, captioned, “Had a moment reflecting on moments,” at the top of the clip. Below the video he wrote, “Grateful,” with a two-hand praying emoji, and “Thank you God.”
In the short clip, Guzman said, “Well, guys, Season 8, in the bag. That’s it. No more Fox lot,” Guzman teased. “Eddie Diaz, signing out.”

Angela Bassett discusses her reaction to the abrupt exit of her 9-1-1 co-star in the latest episode, revealing how it wasn’t the original plan.
The rumors that Guzman might be exiting 9-1-1 started after his character Eddie Diaz moved to Texas to be close to his son Christopher. However, his move didn’t affect Guzman’s time on the show, and he continued to be a part of the team. Despite his video, the actor is expected to continue with the ABC drama.
In an interview with Forbes in February this year, Guzman gave a positive response as for his time on the show, and seemed positive about his future. “I love the character so much and it’s been a pleasure playing the character for so long, that I could see myself playing for a bit longer. However, if I woke up tomorrow and the character was no longer available to play, I would feel solid in the fact that I did my due diligence with him.”
Will 9-1-1 Continue With Season 9?
The show premiered in 2018 on Fox and was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. 9-1-1 now airs on ABC since moving to the network in Season 7. Despite Ryan Guzman’s cryptic message, there might be a way for Eddie Diaz to continue with the show.

9-1-1 airs Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
