Clippers’ Patrick Patterson Caught in Instagram Controversy Over Anniversary Post – Fans Roast Him After Apology!

Los Angeles Clippers forward Patrick Patterson isn’t usually the center of NBA gossip, but that all changed after a heated exchange with fans on Instagram put him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

It started innocently enough: Patterson posted a sweet anniversary photo with his wife, Sarah Nassar, captioned, “In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine. Happy Anniversary.” But things took a nasty turn when a commenter accused Patterson of being a “statistic” for marrying a white woman, even throwing in, “I bet she’s the only one in her family history to date a black stay woke my guy.”

Patterson wasn’t having it. He fired back, “So I should settle for a bulldog and act like I’m happy with my life and preach ‘keep it in your race’ to the world as if Dr. King didn’t fight/die for equality, acceptance, all cultures loving one another, and no hate?”

The exchange, which happened weeks ago, exploded across social media recently, with fans and critics alike weighing in. Patterson’s “bulldog” comment was especially slammed, forcing the NBA player to issue a public apology.

“I want to address my use of the word ‘bulldog’ during a conversation with someone who I felt was making disrespectful remarks about my wife and our relationship,” Patterson wrote. “I responded with the same, making a cruel comment on his wife’s physical stature. I know that two wrongs don’t make a right, but I let my emotions get the better of me in the heat of the moment. For that, I apologize to him, his wife, and the rest of his family for the hurtful and crude comments made on that day.”

He added, “I love my black people. I believe in love and equality.”

But the apology did little to calm the storm. Fans continued to roast Patterson online, with many saying he should have just ignored the trolls instead of stooping to their level. The controversy has made Patterson a trending topic – not for his basketball skills, but for a social media spat gone viral.
