Paige Bueckers had her mind on a special somebody.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese was named to the 2026 USA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Team. It officially marked her senior national team debut.

She and the rest of the Team USA women are competing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from March 11–17, 2026. Among the group are Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers. That means a ton of time for players who are usually rivals to spend together as they fight for a common goal.

Reese, who is fresh off playing in Unrivaled, is certainly enjoying herself around her new teammates. One video proved it. Somebody saw a picture that Beuckers posted of herself in uniform and showed it to the group. You could hear Angel Reese in the background ask, “Who is this thirst trap to??”

Bueckers confirmed she is dating her former UConn teammate and soon-to-be WNBA player Azzi Fudd. 2024 was a hard year for them both, as multiple videos of the couple leaked.

Aside from the hilarious moment, the USA Women’s National Team’s run is underway in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Angel Reese scored six points and had 8 rebounds. But it was Caitlin Clark who was the star of this show. Clark, making her senior national team debut, scored 17 points and dished 12 assists in 19 minutes.

“I thought it was good to get our feet wet,” Kara Lawson said. She picked up her first win as USA Women’s National Team head coach. “We’ve had a short leadup, but I think our focus has been good, our energy’s been good. And I thought that carried over today.”

This was Caitlin’s first game in eight months after suffering injuries this past WNBA season. Rhyne Howard scored a team-best 21 points.

Team USA will play Puerto Rico on Thursday.
