Cameron Brink Stuns Fans After Revealing One Lifestyle Expense Bigger Than Her WNBA Salary

Cameron Brink said her $7,000 monthly private chef costs more than her WNBA salary with the Los Angeles Sparks.

The WNBA is heading into a transformative phase, and a bigger bag is something players want out of the CBA. However, their previous salaries are ridiculously low, and it recently came into light when Cameron Brink revealed one of her personal tales.

Los Angeles Sparks forward Brink recently offered a glimpse into the financial reality many WNBA players face, revealing that one of her regular lifestyle expenses actually exceeds her monthly salary from the league.

Speaking on an episode of her Straight to Cam podcast, Brink shared that she and her fiancé, Ben Felter, spend about $7,000 per month on a private chef. The number stood out for one simple reason, given Brink’s monthly WNBA salary is roughly $6,500.

The comment quickly drew attention as negotiations between the WNBA and the players’ union continue over a new collective bargaining agreement. The league has set a March 10 deadline to finalize a deal, and if both sides cannot reach an agreement, the start of the 2026 season could be affected.

Brink’s situation reveals the broader salary structure across the league. The WNBA’s current average salary is around $120,000 per year, though the league has proposed a significant increase in its latest offer.

Under the proposal, the average salary could rise to approximately $540,000 in 2026 as part of the new interesting CBA framework.

The discussion around pay has intensified as the WNBA experiences a surge in popularity, fueled in part by increased attention around young stars entering the league. That momentum has strengthened the players’ position in negotiations as they push for better revenue sharing and higher salaries.

However, fans on the internet are going gaga over the stark difference between Brink’s payout and her bills.

That said, Brink herself entered the league with significant expectations after the Sparks selected her with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, right behind Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

However, a torn ACL during her rookie season disrupted her early development. Across her first two seasons, Brink has appeared in 34 games, but her presence on social media is what keeps the fans engaged.

“Should have spent that 7k on some financial literacy classes,” a fan shared advice to the WNBA star.

“She didn’t have some advisor???” another fan wondered.

“What the f*ck did she expect? You want someone to come to your house every day for 2k a month?” a third one lashed out.

“That’s $140 per person per meal assuming 25days 2 meals a day,” a fan went a little too far and broke out the full cost of work.

“Just pay for those meal prep subscriptions,” another one added.

“She really can’t make her herself a sandwich?” another one wondered.

“She comes from privilege spare me,” a fan pointed at the luxuries she has.

“I feel like simple preliminary math could have caught this ahead of time,” a user said.

However, if the upcoming season begins on schedule, the Sparks are set to open their 2026 campaign against the Las Vegas Aces on May 10. But with the CBA deadline approaching and salary discussions still unresolved, the financial realities Brink described remain central to the ongoing debate surrounding the league’s future.
