Everyone Is Praying For Angel Reese

Angel Reese is a feisty competitor who saw her emotions take over during the first regular-season game.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark began her 2025 WNBA season with a triple-double in her team’s 93-58 rout of the Chicago Sky Saturday.

During the game, Clark was called for a flagrant foul after a hard foul on her rival, Reese.

The star Sky center was angry with the foul by Clark and had to be held back from attacking her.

Unfortunately, things only got worse for Reese.

There were alleged racial comments from a fan or multiple fans directed toward the Sky star. It’s unclear when the comments occurred during the Fever’s 93-58 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The WNBA is looking into it as a result. On Sunday, the league released this statement regarding fan comments: “The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms — they have no place in our league or in society. We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.”

The Fever said in a statement that they’re “working closely with the WNBA” regarding the investigation and that they “stand firm in our commitment to providing a safe environment for all WNBA players.”

“Say a prayer for Angel Reese. It’s about to get ugly for her, even though she’d get nailed to the cross if roles were reversed and she did that to CC 🥱. The W man… the W 🥴,” a third fan added.

“Lord please protect Angel Reese and prepare a table for her in front of her enemies!! And let them watch her eat! Give her strength, increase her wisdom, and discernment! I pray a hedge of protection over her! May her enemies become her footstool in Jesus mighty name! Amen!” one final fan added.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have picked up right where they left off. In fact, they’ve actually ramped things up, as the former Iowa Hawkeyes star showed her rival a new side to her in their opening game on Saturday afternoon.

Clark, who found herself on the end of some harsh physicality during her rookie season, spent her offseason getting stronger in the gym and wasted little time sending a message to Reese and any would-be bully, hitting the Sky forward with a hefty foul late in the contest.

The Fever and Sky faced off to open their 2025 WNBA seasons in what was a no-brainer scheduling decision for the league. The game lived up to the hype in terms of the expected feistiness, but it was an easy win for Indiana, who blew Reese and the Sky out 93-58.

With less than five minutes left in the third quarter, Reese was attempting to score from the post after snatching a rebound but was fouled by Clark, who sent her sprawling.

If we’re being honest, Reese’s seemed a bit theatrical as the foul, while hard, didn’t look like it should have sent her flailing the way she did.

She made it very clear that she didn’t appreciate the hit, springing up and snapping on Caitlin, while the referee and other Fever players got between them.

They can’t claim there’s nothing going on after this.
