Far-left Rep. Jasmine Crockett allegedly assaulted a conservative journalist after he asked her about her previous remarks about Elon Musk. Reacting to the journalist’s account of the event, Edward R. Martin, Jr., a United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, announced that his office was investigating the alleged attack.

For context, Elon Musk has been targeted by increasingly violent rhetoric from the far left since he assumed his role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DOGE was established by one of Trump’s first executive orders and was charged with ending the endemic fraud and waste in the federal government.

In any case, the brave journalist posted a video explaining the situation to X on March 27, 2025. He said, “I just concluded a formal meeting with the United States Capitol Police regarding Representative Jasmine Crockett’s attack on me. The USCP officers were courteous and supportive throughout the discussion. The decision to pursue charges against Representative Crockett now rests with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.”

Concluding his written post, the reporter stated, “This matter extends beyond a personal dispute between Representative Crockett and myself. It concerns the protection of free speech within the Capitol, as the loss of free speech there would jeopardize its preservation across America. Thank you all for your continued support.”

The same post included a video in which he provided extra context. He explained, “Well, there’s a very big development here on Capitol Hill. I just left a formal meeting with the United States Capitol Police. I had to fill out some more forms and talk about the horrific incident where Congresswoman Crockett reached for my phone, scratching me just because I asked her a question about her involvement in a Tesla takedown.”

Describing how the investigation will proceed, he stated, “So now my formal complaint has officially been moved to the United States Attorney’s office in Washington, DC, and we will see what happens. But again, the United States Capitol Police were very nice and very helpful this morning, and we’ll see what happens.”

Ending the video, the courageous journalist promised to fight for justice. He vowed, “I want to thank all of you for supporting [me as I]… go through this. I don’t want to say difficult, but crazy situation. You know, this is bigger than just me and Rep. Crockett, this is about standing up for free speech in the building right behind me, free speech can never leave Capitol Hill, because if free speech leaves Capitol Hill, free speech will leave America.”

Reacting to the video, Edward R. Martin, Jr., a United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, posted a meme that expressed his feelings on the case. Martin stated, “As I’ve said from Day One, no one is above the law. This matter is currently under review by law enforcement authorities. If it is referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, we will follow the proper procedures to determine whether charges are appropriate.”

In the comments under the attorney’s post, conservatives jumped at the chance to mock the controversial Democrat. One such comment said, “Jasmine knows exactly what she is doing. Pushing the limits and knowing she won’t get in “trouble”. However, I’d like to think that taking an oath and being in Congress holds you to a higher standard (like the military) and that this behavior has consequences. If she is not held responsible for her actions, this will only embolden other Congress members. Something needs to be done about her radical actions! 🤬”
