The crimes Taylor is being accused of are alleged to have taken place in his hometown, Polk County, where he was born and grew up.
He also played college football in the state, for Florida Atlantic, having previously represented Eastern Arizona College, where he was named a First-Team All-Conference and All-Region player.
Taylor declared for the 2014 NFL Draft but went undrafted before signing a three-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.
He suited up for the Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then joined the Cleveland Browns but did not play in the regular season.
Taylor returned to Carolina in 2020 and was released by the team a second time. He joined the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL in 2023 but was cut after two months without making a single appearance.
The player, who remains a free agent, changed his name from Adarius Glanton to Adarius Taylor as a tribute to his father.
The details regarding what he’s been accused of are still unknown.
