Aerial Powers credits Caitlin Clark for creating a welcoming vibe on the Indiana Fever, revealing Clark’s support helped her thrive during a challenging, injury-hit WNBA season.
Aerial Powers played a crucial role this year in the Indiana Fever’s colors. The team was struggling significantly as key players like Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald were sidelined. Looking for some quality players to bolster the squad, the front office turned to Powers. And as she impressed significantly with her performance, Fever signed Powers to a rest-of-season contract.
However, as the offseason is in progress at the moment, Powers has revealed a secret to her successful Fever run. She has recently credited Clark for welcoming her in a manner that made her feel comfortable amidst the others on the roster.
Aerial Powers Gushes Over Caitlin Clark’s Warm Welcome
Powers has been a well-known name in the hooping circuit. And it was for her gritty showing, along with the likes of Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, that Fever almost qualified for the finals. The 31-year-old averaged 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Meanwhile, the Fever star uploaded a vlog recently where she was spotted interviewing her teammates.

And looking back at her experience this year with the Fever roster, Powers cannot be happier. She stated how welcoming the atmosphere was for all the newbies like her. She especially thanked Clark for her “welcoming” nature and detailed how she had a great time.
“I also I want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making me feel welcome,” Powers said.
Surely, Powers has a lot of reasons to feel happy. Despite all the struggles, the locker room chemistry was pretty impressive. Reflecting on the same, Sophie Cunningham detailed Fever’s approach in handling locker room disputes. Now then, coming back to Powers, she will now be showcasing her skills for Çanakkale Belediyespor.
Aerial Powers Joins Çanakkale Belediyespor In The Off Season
Despite having a phenomenal season with the Fever, the 31-year-old is currently a free agent. As per her discussion with Clark, the full roster this year might not be returning next year. As a matter of fact, only Makayla Timpson, Aliyah Boston, and Clark are under contract. Thus, trying to maximize her chances of getting a good deal in the WNBA, Powers will be traveling to Turkey to play for Çanakkale Belediyespor.

In a recent update on her Instagram, the Fever star could be spotted wearing her new team’s jersey in a video. She captioned the post, “New threads. Same mission 🥰.”
Interestingly, Powers will also be joining her Fever teammate, Shey Paddy, at Belediyespor. This will be Powers’ second stint in the Turkish Super League. Back in the 2017-18 season, the 31-year-old suited up for S.K. Fenerbahce.
