Discussing current and past players to become strong coaches, Aliyah Boston asked Candace Parker to coach her.
The Las Vegas Aces created history by winning three championships in four seasons in the WNBA. Leader A’ja Wilson praised Becky Hammon for the title win.
While her coaching acumen certainly played a significant role in the championship run, her playing experience laid the foundation for it. However, Aliyah Boston also had a similar question on her podcast.
There are many successful coaches in the WNBA who first took the court as players and then started their coaching careers. The 2023 rookie asked a question to her co-host, Candace Parker, on similar lines.
Aliyah Boston Asks Candace Parker To Coach Her
Midway in the podcast episode, the Fever forward took a fan question, which looked for the hosts’ views on a current or former WNBA player who could be a strong coach at the college or league level.

Aliyah Boston first silently names CP’s name, but the former Sparks’ star was explaining her answer. The 25-year-old forward once again took Parker’s name and said, “Come coach me.”

While the three-time champion laughed off the idea, in one of the episodes, she mentioned that she would either coach the Indiana Fever or the Las Vegas Aces, as those teams play beautiful basketball. Becky Hammon, Dawn Staley, Stephanie White, and Sandy Brondello are some of the big names who found success as coaches, too.
While the 2023 Rookie of the Year is looking to upgrade her game with the help of experienced Candace Parker, the franchise will be looking to provide her strong support on the court using the upcoming free agency market.
Indiana Fever Could Use Aliyah Boston-Caitlin Clark To Lure Free Agents
The upcoming free agency would provide the most exciting shuffle in the league with multiple All-Stars available for signing. While every team would look for the strongest candidates, the Indiana Fever could also pull some strings to land a player who could win them a championship.

In 2025, they showed that Indiana could be an exciting destination for superstar players, and now, having most of its core – AB and Caitlin Clark still under contract, the franchise could lure some of the big game players to win the championship.
The 2023 rookie, in particular, could use a forward partner to be more effective on the floor, even without CC during long stretches of the games, as HC Stephanie White named Boston among the most impacted amid Caitlin Clark’s absence.
It will be interesting to see which player the Indiana Fever will select for the best available class, but AB and CC will still remain at the heart of their plans.
