Over a decade after coming in second place on American Idol, Jessica Sanchez finally won a reality TV competition. She was a contestant on Season 20 of AGT. She previously competed on AGT in 2006 when she was just ten years old. In 2011, she was the runner-up behind Philip Phillips on American Idol.

Her win on Season 20 of AGT was controversial for some viewers. They weren’t happy that the experienced performer won over other contestants who were looking for their big break.

Viewers Predict Shocking Changes For Season 21

NBC has officially renewed AGT for another season. Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Mel B were the judges for Season 20 but haven’t been confirmed to return for a new season. Simon Cowell is busy overseas filming a new season of Britain’s Got Talent. Production was temporarily paused after he suffered an injury.

In addition to Jessica Sanchez’s win, AGT viewers were frustrated by the production values during Season 20. The reality show is notorious for shaking things up between seasons with new rules and unexpected performers. One fan took to social media to share what changes they expect for Season 21.

AGT host Terry Crews ‘stole’ Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer in Season 20 to save a dance crew. The fan predicted that Terry Crews would get two Golden Buzzers in the new season. Furthermore, the fan predicted that the Golden Buzzers would be in use during the live shows into the semifinals.

The dedicated AGT fan predicted a new reward that would take the contestants straight to the finals, called the “Platinum Buzzer.” The fan speculated that the Golden Buzzer would take the acts to the live rounds, but the Platinum Buzzer would send them to the finals.

The fan also predicted the return of an AGT spinoff to air in early 2027. They predicted a ‘Bronze Buzzer’ for the judges to send the performers to the spinoff for another chance.

Fans React To Possible Changes

While the speculation is interesting, most of the ideas were shut down by other AGT fans. One wrote, “They better not EVER bring the platinum buzzer I would absolutely riot.”

Another added, “While the bronze buzzer sounds interesting, they would never do that for a different spinoff show. Too convoluted.”
