Andre Iguodala had a successful career in the NBA, playing 19 seasons and winning multiple championships. His time with the Golden State Warriors brought him the most success in his elite career. Recently, the former NBA star reflected on Kevin Durant’s greatness, and now he has shared about life after basketball.

On the podcast “The Young Man and the Three,” Iquodala said players need to support each other even after retirement. He regrets not building more lasting friendships during his career. However, his thoughts on experiencing his real worth besides a luxurious life drew a lot of public attention.

“I had the dream house, the three-car garage… and I just wasn’t happy,” Iguodala reflected. Andre Iguodala is helping other players as the executive director of the National Basketball Players Association. He remains focused on protecting players’ rights and reminding them to care for each other beyond the court.

Iguodala’s journey in the league is evergreen. Even in the present day, it remains with Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr’s mind. For Andre Iguodala, life is more important than luxury. His mindset towards life makes him stand apart from those who chase fame and money blindly.

Iguodala was always a great athlete, but he knew talent was not enough. From his early days with the Philadelphia 76ers to his championship years with the Golden State Warriors, he worked hard every summer to improve. He studied other players like Kobe Bryant and learned new skills to add to his game.

“I have the same agent as Kobe Bryant. So I was always stealing tips, I had someone watching Kobe’s… Stealing things, writing things down, giving it to me,” Andre Iguodala expressed. Like Kobe would dribble on a wall with his left hand at one angle for 20 minutes and then change the angle for another 20 minutes. So I was doing that.”

His approach is a strong example for young athletes aiming for a long, meaningful career. However, learning from the legends made his journey more skilled and much to grow.
