Stanford Cardinal GM Andrew Luck had a hysterical reaction to a big play by his defense while being interviewed by Kendra Douglas during Saturday’s game against the California Golden Bears.

Kendra Douglas spoke to Andrew Luck on the sidelines during the second quarter of Saturday’s big game, asking him what it was like to be involved in the major college football rivalry.

As Luck was responding to Douglas’ question, Jay Green of Stanford picked up a loose football and returned it to the end zone for six. Luck, unable to contain his own excitement, interrupted the interview to celebrate the big score:

There’s your kind reminder about why Andrew Luck was such a popular interview subject during his playing career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts released franchise legend Peyton Manning from his contract in 2012 and drafted Luck with the No. 1 pick, unable to pass on the generational talent.

Luck lived up to the hype early in his career, leading the Colts to three straight playoff berths and the 2014 AFC Championship Game to begin his career. Unfortunately, a series of significant injuries derailed Luck’s 2015 and 2016 seasons, and he was sidelined for all of 2017.

After winning Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2018, Luck unexpectedly retired in 2019, citing his lack of passion to continue playing as injuries piled up. Per Pro Football Reference, he finished with 23,671 passing yards and 171 touchdowns.
