Angel Reese Drops Bombshell About Caitlin Clark
Reese has a clear message.
Angel Reese wants people to remember that Caitlin Clark is not the only player who has helped grow women’s basketball.
The Atlanta Dream star spoke up about her own impact on the game right after helping Team USA take home gold at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, where the Americans beat France in the final.
Reese actually shared that gold medal journey with Clark. The two have had a long-running rivalry dating back to their college days, but they put it aside to team up for their country. Still, Reese is making sure Clark’s fans give her the credit she deserves for helping the sport grow, too.

Reese talked about it during a chat with Complex, bringing up stuff she’d hinted at earlier. She said that even though she gets a ton of hate, she still deserves credit for what she’s done for the game.
“I’ll be the person that gets the hate, but at the end of the day I’m growing women’s basketball and helping women’s basketball,” Reese said.

She also gave a detailed explanation, “I don’t think it’s just her fans, I think it’s fans in general, I mean, people don’t realize that at the end of the day, we’re human, I mean, you guys watch us and knowing that, like, it’s just basketball, I promise you, it’s just basketball, I don’t have any hard feelings towards her.”
Reese has had a huge fan base ever since her college days at LSU and Maryland. She blew up back then and carried that star power right into the WNBA with the Atlanta Dream.
Her back-and-forth with Clark has kept all eyes on the sport, too. People couldn’t stop watching them in college, and that same excitement followed them both straight to the pros.
Clark gets a ton of love from fans for making women’s basketball a lot famous, but Reese doesn’t want people acting like she had nothing to do with it.
Just recently, the two proved they could team up for something bigger, bringing home gold for Team USA at the FIBA Women’s World Cup.
Now, Reese just wants people to see the whole picture.
