Angel Reese is one of the most highly talented basketball players in the WNBA right now.
Reese’s 2024 season was nothing short of transformative; she only continued to improve in 2025. Despite how good she and others are, the league still doesn’t pay its players well.
Reese made a lot of money while playing with the LSU Tigers and has continued to make money now that she is in the WNBA.
During an Instagram Live in 2024, she clarified that the league does not help her pay her bills. She further revealed that her rent was $8,000.
The clip sparked mixed reactions online, with some suggesting she may be overspending.
Fast-forward to 2025, and not much has changed regarding her pay, but a side hustle gives her so much more to supplement her income.
Angel Reese Slams WNBA Salary
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese clapped back at a troll this week after she shared photos from a recent offseason trip, where she appeared to be posing in a swimsuit on a boat.
“Do you want to be an Instagram model or a WNBA player?” the troll wrote to her on X.

Reese saw the comment and promptly responded, “Well, no, I’ll never pick because my dream job doesn’t pay me enough, while my side job pays me seven figures. Anyway…..go check out my new episode 😘.”
Reese, who threatened the league with players sitting out over pay, earns a $73,439 base salary with the Sky.
That salary has forced her and others to rely on endorsements, podcasting, and other off-court opportunities.
In the meantime, the 23-year-old has brand deals with McDonald’s, Hershey’s, Amazon, Beats by Dre, PlayStation, and Cash App. She also has a huge deal with Reebok, which released her signature shoe earlier this year.
