Angel Reese Has A New Nickname
This is really a memorable one.
Angel Reese represents the United States on one of basketball’s biggest global stages.
The Atlanta Dream forward joined Team USA for the 2026 FIBA World Cup in Berlin, Germany. Reese shared photos from the team’s media day on Instagram while wearing her No. 15 jersey.
“AR15. Reporting for duty. Such an honor. @usabasketball,” Reese wrote.
The post immediately got hype from Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson. The two go back to their college days, and Johnson wasted no time dropping a new nickname in the comments, calling her “USA bae.”
Reese and the Dream enter the international break after winning five of their last six games. They moved to 26-14 on Sunday after an 89-81 win over Olivia Miles and the Minnesota Lynx.
Atlanta gets back on the floor on Sept. 17, when they host Brittney Griner and the Connecticut Sun.
Reese Gets Ready For Another Team USA Opportunity

Reese earned one of 12 spots on Team USA’s roster for the World Cup. Kara Lawson will lead the group in Berlin.
Reese will also have company from Atlanta. Dream guard Rhyne Howard joined the national team roster.

Several other WNBA stars will represent Team USA as well. Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston will represent the Indiana Fever. Paige Bueckers, Napheesa Collier, and others also made the squad.
Reese already helped Team USA earlier this year during the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in February. She averaged 6.8 points and 8.0 rebounds across five games.
Her rebounding numbers ranked second in the tournament.
However, Reese started on a good note for her country. Team USA opened its World Cup journey against China and won it 94-61.
Now, the Americans will then face Italy on Sunday and the Czech Republic on Monday.
