Aaliyah Nye may not be receiving many minutes on the court this season, but the Atlanta Dream guard had no trouble commanding attention before a recent game.

A pregame photo of Nye began circulating online after she arrived wearing a bold pink outfit that stood out immediately.

The 6-foot guard and forward wore a pink tweed jacket that was left completely open, revealing a white lace bra underneath. She paired the blazer with matching cropped pants, platform white heels and a confident pose as she made her way through the arena.

The outfit quickly became the latest example of how WNBA players have transformed the traditional pregame entrance into a personal fashion showcase.

Players once arrived at arenas in relatively simple suits or team-issued clothing. Now, the tunnel walk has become an important part of the league’s culture, with athletes using those few moments before a game to show off their individual style.

Nye fully embraced that opportunity.

Her open jacket and coordinated pink look were impossible to miss, especially when compared with the basketball uniform fans normally see her wearing.

The picture was taken before Atlanta faced Nye’s former team, the Las Vegas Aces.

The Toronto Tempo selected Nye with the eighth pick in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft. She later became available on waivers before the Atlanta Dream claimed her.

The move gave Nye another opportunity to remain in the league, although finding regular playing time on Atlanta’s experienced roster has been difficult.

Through 13 appearances during the 2026 season, she has averaged 0.2 points, 0.2 assists and 0.1 steals per game.

Those numbers reflect her limited minutes rather than the shooting ability that helped make her a professional prospect.

Nye built her reputation as a three-point specialist during college.

She spent two seasons at Illinois before transferring to Alabama, where she played for three years and became one of the most productive outside shooters in the program’s history.

At Alabama, Nye became the school’s all-time leader in made three-pointers.

She set a single-season program record by making 108 shots from beyond the arc during the 2023-24 campaign. Instead of simply holding onto that mark, she returned the following season and broke her own record by hitting 111 three-pointers.

That shooting ability eventually helped her earn a place in the WNBA.

Aaliyah Nye Helped Las Vegas Win A Championship

Nye appeared in 44 games for the Aces during the 2025 regular season and made two starts.

She averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds while playing 15.3 minutes per game. She also shot 31.4 percent from three-point range.

Her strongest performance came against the Phoenix Mercury on June 29.

Nye scored a season-high 16 points in that game and made five of her seven attempts from beyond the arc. The performance offered a clear look at what she could provide when given enough minutes and open opportunities.

She did not have a major role during the playoffs, but she appeared in six postseason games as the Aces went on to win the WNBA championship.

Capturing a title during her rookie season gave Nye an impressive start to her professional career.

She was surrounded by established stars in Las Vegas, which helped her gain experience but also made consistent playing time difficult to secure.

The same challenge has followed her to Atlanta.

The Dream have a deep roster featuring experienced players, leaving limited opportunities for someone still attempting to establish herself in the league.

That does not mean Nye has lost the skill that made her one of college basketball’s most dangerous shooters.

Her ability to connect from long range remains the clearest path toward earning a larger role. A player who can stretch the floor and punish defenses for leaving her open can become valuable quickly, especially when injuries or schedule demands force coaches to adjust their rotation.

For now, however, Nye is drawing more attention for what she wore before the game than anything she has done during it.

That has become increasingly common around the WNBA.

Pregame fashion gives players an opportunity to create a public identity beyond their statistics. A reserve who receives only a few minutes during a game can still reach a large audience through one memorable arrival photo.

Nye’s outfit accomplished exactly that.
