An actor who featured in the final movie of The Dark Knight Trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ has suddenly passed away. Alon Aboutboul, who also had a role in ‘London Has Fallen,’ is d3ad at 60, according to his representative.
Aboutboul’s rep confirmed as much to the Metro, revealing the actor was found d3ad at HaBonim Beach in Tel Aviv this Tuesday after going swimming and collapsing. A cause of d3ath has not been confirmed.
“It happened in an instant. He went into the water and everything seemed perfectly fine. After a few minutes, he suddenly came out of the water, approached people and said he wasn’t feeling well, and then they called for help,” an eyewitness told Ynet.
“Everyone was really scared, he came out of the water and collapsed on the beach. Everyone wanted to help, and they recognised who it was when he came out of the water. This is a terrible tragedy here this morning, everyone here is in a big shock.”
Aboutboul shared his final post via Instagram Stories on Monday, reposting a photo showing the sun rising above the ocean. The caption read, “An especially beautiful sunrise” when translated from Hebrew.

The late actor was born in Kiryat Ata, Israel, and attended the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts. His career started in his native Israel before he transitioned to America, where he landed roles in films such as ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ in 1986 and ‘Rambo III’ in 1988.
He later went on to appear in big-screen launches, including ‘Munich’ and ‘Body of Lies’, before playing nuclear physicist Dr. Leonard Pavel in the last film of the trilogy in 2012.

While he enjoyed success in American cinema, Alon Aboutboul continued to work in Israel. He earned a Best Supporting Actor Ophir Award for his role in the 2003 Israeli comedy-drama ‘Nina’s Tragedi3s’ and was later nominated for Best Actor for the film ‘A Place in Heaven’, which came out in 2013.
Israel’s Culture and Sport Minister Miki Zohar said he was “deeply saddened” by news of the actor’s d3ath.
“Over the years, he portrayed a wide range of characters, bringing depth and emotion to them, leaving a profound mark on Israeli culture,” Zohar wrote in a tweet. “May his memory be blessed.”
TPS extends condolences to Aboutboul’s family, friends, and loved ones.
He will be missed.
