The Cleveland Browns are reportedly set to make a change at quarterback following their 1-3 start to the season.

The Browns are spoilt for choice at QB but can’t boast particularly great ones. Joe Flacco, who was named the starter after helping the team to a playoff spot two seasons ago, hasn’t been as convincing on his return, and according to Tony Rizzo, he will be replaced when Cleveland plays the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday.

The Cleveland sports reporter revealed on Tuesday that the team will bump Dillon Gabriel up and go with him as the starter following their early-season struggles.

“Dillon Gabriel is going to start, according to my sources,” he said. “It sounds to me like this kid’s gonna start, and why not? What the hell. Does it really matter who starts at quarterback with the Browns?”

The Cleveland Browns Still Aren’t Ready To Start Shedeur Sanders

If Rizzo is to be believed, Shedeur Sanders will continue to bide his time. The former Colorado star suffered a shocking slide in the draft that saw him selected two rounds after Gabriel heard his name called.

His father, Deion Sanders, recently confirmed he rejected an opportunity to join the Baltimore Ravens because he didn’t want to play behind Lamar Jackson. Of course, he ended up in a worse situation with the Browns.

In any case, Coach Prime believes that his son’s opportunity is not far off.

“I’ve got a prediction, I ain’t telling anybody,” he said during a recent appearance on the ‘New Heights’ podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce. “I got a feeling when it’s gonna go down, but it’s gonna go down, all right? He’s going to get a shot.”

Shedeur, who was recently spotted practicing with another NFL team, was thought to have taken a subtle dig at his fellow Browns QBs. But it doesn’t appear that the pecking order has changed, going on five weeks into the 2025 NFL season.
