The Detroit Lions are not reprimanding the security guard who went viral after accepting Nazir Stackhouse’s offer for some Thanksgiving turkey after Thursday’s game at Ford Field.
After the Packers defeated the Detroit Lions 31-24 on Thursday, a video surfaced of Nazir Stackhouse kindly offering some of his Thanksgiving food to a couple of Ford Field security guards.
The two workers were initially hesitant, but one of them eventually accepted his offer and took a bite of the turkey:
After the video surfaced, rumors circulated on social media claiming that the security guard had been fired, which would have been ridiculous if true. Thankfully, this wasn’t at all the case.
A Detroit Lions spokesperson told TMZ Sports that such rumors are bogus and that the security guard faced no discipline for simply accepting Nazir Stackhouse’s kindhearted gesture.
“This employee was not disciplined at all for this situation,” the spokesperson told the outlet. “The report is inaccurate.”
It was a forgettable game all-around for the Lions, who lost star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown early in the game with an ankle injury. With the Lions losing and the San Francisco 49ers (holders of the No. 7 seed) winning, Detroit no longer controls its own destiny for a playoff berth.
Detroit Lions Face Must-Win Scenario vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Lions thought they were getting a big boost when it was announced that former All-Pro center Frank Ragnow would come out of retirement and rejoin the team. However, Ragnow failed a physical and will thus not return to Dan Campbell’s squad.
Detroit hosts the 6-5-1 Dallas Cowboys on ‘Thursday Night Football’ in what’s shaping up to be a must-win for both clubs. Not only does Detroit likely have to win out to make the playoffs, but it will also need some outside help.
First thing’s first, though: The Lions have to take care of a red-hot Dallas team coming off an emotional Thanksgiving Game win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
