Dylan Raiola’s new girlfriend could play a factor in his decision.

Dylan Raiola’s college football career is heading in a direction that many Nebraska Cornhuskers fans don’t appreciate. The former five-star recruit will officially enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported. on Dec. 15.

Max Olson notes that Raiola wants to play on a program where he can unlock his potential and prepare to reach the next level in his football journey. He took the Huskers to their first bowl game since 2016 behind a 7-5 record in his debut season.

Raiola suffered a season-ending injury on Nov. 1, over a month before the transfer portal news saw the light. While it appears that he is set to leave the program, there is one major factor that could play in Nebraska’s favor next year.

If he decides to leave the program, he will enter a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend, Skarlett Jones, a true freshman on the softball team.

He hard-launched his relationship on Christmas with an Instagram story.

“A recent hard launch of their relationship adds yet another wrinkle to the transfer portal saga,” Weir wrote. “Perhaps Raiola is going to change his mind and finish his college football career with the Cornhuskers. Maybe he makes enough money to where a flight back and forth to Lincoln is not enough reason to stay.”

Is his relationship with Skarlett enough to keep him in Lincoln for at least one more year? Or will Raiola still opt to leave the Huskers for greener pastures? It certainly adds another wrinkle to an already intriguing saga.

Raiola’s potential exit already had ramifications within the program. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule has changed his approach from a CEO standpoint and is set to be more present on the field next season.

Dylan Raiola could continue playing for the Cornhuskers and add to his family legacy. His father, former NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, was an All-American and Nebraska Football Hall of Fame inductee. Dylan flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska in 2023, and perhaps that could happen again soon.

NFL reporter James Palmer reacted to Raiola’s multiple team changes since high school, saying that he would feel bad if he were Raiola’s girlfriend on X.

“I’m absolutely terrified if I’m this guy’s girlfriend right now,” Palmer wrote on social media.

In two seasons with the Huskers, Raiola has gone 456 of 660 for 4,819 yards and 31 touchdowns with 17 interceptions.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
