Sherrone Moore has been fired for cause, the university announced Wednesday. Michigan fired after finding evidence of an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” according to the statement from Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel.

“Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

He was fired effective immediately, and Biff Poggi was named as the interim head coach. Moore led Michigan to a 7-5 season in his first year after Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL.

This season, Michigan went on to go 9-3 and is set to play Texas in the Citrus Bowl. Now, the team must deal with controversy surrounding their former coach. The 39-year-old Sherrone Moore was 9-3 this year after going 8-5 in his debut season.

Paige Shiver has unexpectedly become the subject of the college football season. The Michigan Wolverines fired Sherrone Moore over an inappropriate relationship with her.

It appears that she knows her name is trending. She quickly took to her Instagram and set it to private.

While Michigan has not named the individual, social media speculation has centered on Paige Shiver.

Shiver served as the executive assistant to the head coach, Sherrone Moore. She works in an off-field role. It typically involves administrative coordination, recruiting assistance, and team operations. She was promoted to the position of Moore’s executive assistant just last season.

This situation highlights his wife, Kelli Moore, who is now facing this horrible situation in the public eye. They got married in 2015. The couple has three girls: Shiloh, Solei, and Sadie.

It’s still early in the process, but getting a new head coach named is the first piece to the puzzle. Moore has to fix the problems at home before thinking about getting a new job.
