Fox News viewers praised Jessica Tarlov after she held her own against Jesse Watters during a heated exchange.

Tarlov, who stars alongside Watters on Fox News’s The Five, was forced to hit back at the 47-year-old as they discussed James Talarico on the aforementioned show.

During the June 18 edition of The Five, the panel discussed James Talarico sharing a checking account with his mother, Tamara Talarico. The details of the account emerged recently following a review of his mandatory personal financial disclosures, triggering a wave of media coverage and political commentary.

The Wells Fargo checking account is the only checking account listed on Talarico’s personal financial disclosure. The filing explicitly notes that the account is “jointly held by the filer and the filer’s mother.”

Furthermore, the disclosure lists the account balance as being between $15,000 and $50,000.

As they discussed the checking account on Thursday, June 18, the conversation moved on to how Talarico called out Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, telling him to release the internal files relating to a recent alleged sex offender case.

In the case, Waco attorney, Adam Dean Hoffman, was accused of repeatedly abusing an eight-year-old boy. And after Hoffman’s initial trial ended in a hung jury, prosecutors offered him a plea deal.

Hoffman pleaded guilty to two reduced misdemeanors, served only 29 days in jail, and avoided having to register as a sex offender.

This has led to mass outrage, with Democratic Senate candidate Talarico demanding the immediate public release of all internal emails, memos, text messages, and documents from the Attorney General’s office to uncover how this specific deal was negotiated.

Addressing the protest, Tarlov said, “Talarico is standing outside Paxton’s office asking about how this admitted molester got a deal where he was only in jail for 29 days. Someone who literally said, ‘I molested a child,’ and you don’t have to register as a sex offender.”

Jesse Watters then responded, “That’s been debunked,” with Tarlov shooting back, “We’ve been debunking it for weeks.”

However, Tarlov wouldn’t back down, correctly explaining that it “It’s literally what happened,” before Watters dismissed her by saying, “We don’t have time to explain it to you.”

Following the broadcast, Fox News viewers chimed in to defend Jessica Tarlov on social media, as one wrote, “Jessica needs a raise to deal with these folks.”

“I genuinely am starting to think this is a ratings bit that Watters is doing. Like it’s so outlandish that nobody actually believes him, right?” asked another. Meanwhile, a third person wrote, “Jessica constantly schools Jesse Watters.”
