Head coach Sherrone Moore was fired on Wednesday. Michigan said it found evidence that Moore had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. Hours later, it was reported that Saline Police had detained Moore. He was transferred to Pittsfield Township and, eventually, the Washtenaw County Jail.

Moore coached the Wolverines to a 17-8 record over his two seasons, with four games coached as an interim in 2023.

The Wolverines went 9-3 in the 2025 regular season. They are set to play the Texas Longhorns in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31. In the meantime, things have only gotten worse for Sherrone Moore. It involves the staffer with whom he had a sexual relationship.
