LeBron formed another superteam.

LeBron James just made it official. In a multi-post thread on X, the four-time champion revealed he is joining the Philadelphia 76ers for what he called his final NBA chapter.

The announcement came after weeks of speculation and personal reflection. James made clear he nearly walked away after last season but ultimately decided he still has more to give.

With a lengthy message, the four-time NBA champion explained his thought process before joining one of the most interesting teams in the league ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

“I thought I was done when the season ended,” James wrote. “I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give.”

He described the past few months as special, a rare stretch of time spent thinking without pressure.

“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point?” he continued. “I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.”

James then delivered the destination.

“I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.”

He closed the thread by acknowledging his past stops.

“Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!”

The message ended with the familiar prayer hands, salute, and crown emojis.

The move pairs James with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and recent addition Jaylen Brown. Earlier free-agency coverage had listed the 76ers among a shrinking group of contenders after the six teams left in the race report and various social media blunders that fueled speculation.

Some had even pointed to Cleveland based on the Cupcake Lady leak, but James ultimately chose Philadelphia.

The decision ends months of uncertainty and sets up a fascinating Eastern Conference picture as James begins what he frames as one final title push.
