To get an id3a of how much Dale Lolley was admired and respected in Pittsburgh, you just have to search up his name on X/Twitter. There, you’ll see countless touching tributes for the legendary Steelers reporter.

“Dale was damn good at what he did. A man with a wealth of knowledge who took time to offer advice to me and was fun to work with when we were partners. Gone way too soon. It’s a sad day. Praying for his family,” wrote Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“So very sorry to see this. Dale was always someone I enjoyed talking ball with. He LOVED the Steelers and covering the team. Always a Professional! Sending Love and support to his family,” wrote former Steelers defensive end and two-time Super Bowl champion Brett Keisel.

“I’ve lost a truly great friend, but the world has also lost a truly great man. And I’m not only a better reporter because of Dale, but I’m a better person because of him, too,” said DK Pittsburgh Sports reporter Chris Halicke.

“I worked with Dale for a short period of time. In that time he was unbelievably welcoming, helpful and patient. Thinking of his family and friends today,” wrote Jeff Hartman of Fans First Sports Network.

“Sat next to Dale for much of last season in Steelers media room and watched him fight cancer courageously. Dale did it the old-fashioned way, covering everything from preps to pros, and brought an athlete’s mentality to journalism. Rest in peace,” said Kevin Gorman of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Over Lolley’s career as a Steelers reporter, the team won four AFC Championships (1995, 2005, 2008 and 2010) and Super Bowls 40 and 43.
