The college student at the University of Kentucky is facing multiple charges after investigators accused her of hiding her infant’s body in a trash bag inside a closet.

Officers found the infant “wrapped in a towel inside of a black trash bag,” after being dispatched to the 400 block of Park Avenue last month in response to an unresponsive infant.

A major update has since emerged that paints Snelling in an even worse light.

21-year-old Laken Snelling was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant after police responded to an unresponsive infant.

An unsealed court filing says Snelling searched a number of pregnancy-related topics on her phone prior to allegedly giving birth in her bedroom. A search of her phone also unveiled “several searches, including different things pertaining to pregnancy.”

That included evidence of “concealed or hidden pregnancy.”

The court filing also revealed she allegedly took pictures of herself while in labor, as it alleges that there were “images of her during labor, photos of her doing things ordinary pregnant women should not be doing” on the phone.

The affidavit added that “the photos that were taken while she was in labor were deleted in an attempt to hide the birth.”

Laken Snelling also spoke to police on the day of her arrest. She allegedly told them she was awake for half an hour after giving birth “before falling on top of the baby and going back to sleep.”

Once she woke up, she claims that the newborn was “turning blue and purple,” according to the affidavit.

Believing that the baby was deceased, “she wrapped the baby up like a burrito and laid next to it on the floor because it gave her a little comfort in the moment.”

The investigation revealed she informed medical staff that the newborn had shown “a little bit of fetal movement” and made a “whimper” after he was born, per Fox News.

Snelling then put the baby in a trash bag, cleaned up the blood after a shower, and then put her placenta “inside of a zip lock bag and placed it inside the black trash bag,” per the affidavit.

Following her arrest, Laken Snelling withdrew from the University of Kentucky and is no longer a STUNT team member.
