Rudy Gobert’s world just flipped off the court, and not in a quiet way. As the Timberwolves chase a deep playoff run, the 32-year-old NBA star faces a personal firestorm playing out in the public eye. Gobert has ended things with his pregnant girlfriend, Julia Bonilla, in a move that’s left fans and insiders stunned.

According to multiple sources, Gobert didn’t just call it quits- he told Bonilla to pack up and leave his home, along with their one-year-old son, right as the playoffs tipped off. Just days earlier, the three appeared like a united family during Minnesota’s final regular-season game. Now, what looked picture-perfect has unraveled into a messy and emotional split.

Sources connected to the Timberwolves’ inner circle say the breakup blindsided people around the team. Gobert showed affection toward Bonilla and Romeo after the final game, fueling the sense that things were still intact between them. But after Bonilla revealed her second pregnancy, things quickly unraveled.

Bonilla opened up about the split on social media, describing it as “one of the most painful times in my life.” She wrote, “I considered Rudy the love of my life. I left everything for him. I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship.” Despite the heartbreak, she chose to protect Gobert’s name “for the sake of my children.” She also firmly denied any cheating rumors, saying, “I have NEVER EVER been unfaithful to the father of my children.”

Gobert responded with a brief message of his own, stating that “inaccurate information” is circulating but stopped short of sharing specifics. He did confirm the end of their relationship and said he would continue to support the people he cares about.

Meanwhile, sources say Bonilla hoped to return to France after the split, but Gobert wants her and their son to stay in the U.S. until custody arrangements are finalized after the playoffs. Gobert has reportedly retained legal counsel and pushed for her to remain in Minnesota.

Just weeks ago, Gobert called fatherhood a “blessing” during a March interview. Now, with a second child on the way, he finds himself navigating a legal and emotional storm while still anchoring the Timberwolves’ playoff defense.
