Meghan Walker has found the next phase in her life, and it has nothing to do with track and field.

In 2024, the world was introduced to the Nebraska track star when she took to social media and posted two side-by-side pictures in her track and field gear.

The attention she got from her pictures led to the WWE eyeing her for a potential NXT contract. She confirmed those rumors by sharing photos of herself and WWE legend Triple H. She wrote, “Gotta learn from the best to be the best.”

She had already signed an NIL deal when the WWE revealed the fifth class of its Next In Line (NIL) program, with 12 former college athletes making the jump to the ring with the hope of one day being on the company’s roster.

According to WSJ, college athletes have described the NIL program as “more like a paid internship than a marketing role.” The focus is on “building a relationship and preparing them for a potential career in wrestling after they graduate.”

Fast forward to the end of 2025, and now Meghan Walker has signed another deal.

Nebraska Huskers track and field freshman Meghan Walker has signed a deal with the professional wrestling company, per PWInsider.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the 21-year-old track and field athlete has signed an NXT deal with WWE. Walker was a part of the pre-SummerSlam tryouts in August, which also featured the likes of Will Kroos, LJ Cleary, Ben Bishop, Omari, Anita Vaughan, Ellen Viking, and Elijah Blum.

In high school, Walker was a two-time South Dakota state champion in the 200-metre and 400-metre sprints.

In college, Walker primarily competed in the 400-metre sprint. In January, her team placed 4th in the 4×400 Relay at the 2025 Mark Colligan Memorial. The team would get a third-place finish at the Graduate Classic during that same month.

In the 600 Meters, she finished first at the Husker Holiday Open and then in sixth place at the Graduate Classic.

Meghan Walker’s new deal means she will now relocate to WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando to train full-time.
