During the interview, Brittany explained that while the family lovingly calls their son “Bronze” at home, Patrick is particular about making sure his full name, Patrick Mahomes III, gets proper recognition. It’s a tradition that clearly means a lot to the superstar quarterback, who shares a name with his own father. Brittany admitted she has to be careful not to slip into using the nickname too casually in public settings, or else risk a playful scolding from her husband. The moment gave fans a charming glimpse into the Mahomes’ family life and the pride Patrick takes in passing down his legacy.
Brittany Mahomes recently had an interview where she shed a bit of light on how her husband, Patrick Mahomes, feels about their son Bronze’s nickname.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is a proud dad to his and wife Brittany Mahomes’ two kids and has specific preferences regarding their names.
“My second child, Patrick Mahomes III,” Brittany, 28, said during the Friday, January 26, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show while discussing the 14-month-old’s allergies and her resulting partnership with epinephrine manufacturer AUVI-Q. “I have to say his real name or his dad will get mad.”

She then clarified to those who don’t know that their son’s name is Patrick Mahomes, but they call him his nickname. “His name is Patrick [and] we call him Bronze,” she said.
By May 2022, the couple announced they were expecting a second child together. On Nov. 28, Brittany gave birth to a baby boy named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Brittany and Patrick have been together since high school and married back on March 12, 2022, in a gorgeous ceremony in Hawaii. They share two children together named Sterling Skye, born in 2021, and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, born in Nov 2022.
In the meantime, Mahomes is fresh off finishing the AFC Championship game with 241 passing yards and one touchdown. Thanks to Mahomes, the Chiefs have a chance to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions in 20 years.
This is Kansas City’s fourth trip to the Super Bowl in the last five years.
