Caitlin Clark recounts an awkward courtside moment with LeBron James, where her smile met his straight face, before she went on to capture him on camera.

While the WNBA season is still sometime to come, Caitlin Clark and co. are extremely happy at the moment. As they have finally managed to obtain a favorable CBA, the 24-year-old is looking to have some fun in the offseason. Invited by NBC, Clark spent a good time capturing the likes of LeBron James. But in order to do that, the Indiana Fever star had quite an awkward exchange with the 41-year-old legend.

Reminiscing about the incident, Clark pointed out that at one point, she made eye contact with the Lakers’ legend. But instead of returning a smile, the Akron-born gave her a reaction that she was least expecting.

“I swear we made eye contact so | sat down the camera and I smiled at him and he just looked at me with a straight face,” said Clark.

Well, this might not have been a deliberate decision from James. Instead, he might have been too engrossed in the game to interact with the 2024 Rookie of the Year. On the contrary, Clark’s stock in the NBA has been going up steadily. She made her debut on NBC’s Sunday Night Basketball in the Lakers vs. New York Knicks game.

Impressed with her skills, she was recalled for the Indiana Pacers vs. Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New York Knicks game. Meanwhile, coming back to James, the controversy doesn’t seem to end with the 4-time NBA champion.

Can LeBron James Fit Into The New Role For Los Angeles Lakers?

With the emergence of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, James is now a third-choice offense. While his efficiency remains unquestioned, critics now question whether playing the NBA legend in a different role will remain sustainable.

Analyzing the entire ordeal, Chris Broussard stated, “We all talk about how high his basketball IQ is, historically high. There’s no way LeBron is sitting there watching Luka shoot 30 shots and miss 2/3 of them, thinking that’s smart. I’m definitely not saying he has any issue with Luka, but he’s watching this and there’s no way he thinks that’s the best way to play basketball. I think he realizes though this is the only way we can win. If I deplete myself the way D Wade did for LeBron, this is the best way we can win, but he knows that’s not smart basketball”

Thus, with things looking complicated, fans will now look to see what awaits James.
