WNBA star Caitlin Clark offers inside look at managing injuries | Fox News

Caitlin Clark isn’t the only guard for the Indiana Fever sidelined with an injury right now.

On July 15, Clark suffered a groin injury against the Connecticut Sun. She missed time earlier this year due to a quad strain, but this setback seems to be a tad worse. Luckily for the Fever, they had Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald step up during Clark’s absence.

The bad news is Colson and McDonald won’t be available for the rest of the 2025 season.

“The Indiana Fever announced today that guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald will both miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season after suffering injuries during the team’s game at the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night,” the team said in a press release.

Colson suffered an ACL tear during the first quarter of action. McDonald, on the other hand, is dealing with a broken bone in her right foot. That injury occurred during the fourth quarter.

After the Fever broke this news Friday afternoon, Clark posted a photo of Colson and McDonald on her Instagram page along with this message: “love you guys.”

McDonald has filled in admirably for Clark, averaging 9.8 points and 4.7 assists per game this season. Colson, meanwhile, averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 assists per game for the Fever.

Unfortunately for Indiana, it’ll be severely shorthanded this Saturday against the Chicago Sky. That’s because the front office can’t sign a hardship player until after that game is over.

With Colson and McDonald out, the Fever desperately need Clark to return from her injury as soon as possible.
