Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges on Dancing with the Stars, has apologized to Danielle Fishel after she commented on her “tiny” frame.
During the November 4 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame episode, Carrie Ann retracted her words about Danielle’s “tiny little” body, which she had mentioned during the Halloween show.
Last week, Carrie Ann said during a critique of Danielle and Pasha Pashkov’s performance, “You have to use the space because you are a tiny little woman,” something that the 44-year-old explained stayed with her the following week.
Reflecting on the comment in a confessional, Danielle revealed, “I am a tiny little woman, but she’s big on the inside – more powerful – so I need to unleash her more often.”
Continuing, the actress noted that it can be difficult to dance with her frame. “It doesn’t come naturally to be flailing my 5-foot-1 body around the floor,” she said.

However, Danielle’s pro Pasha took Carrie Ann’s critique into account when choreographing their most recent dance to Aerosmith’s Dream On.
“Carrie Ann wants her to fill out the space more,” Pasha explained, “which contemporary is the perfect style to put [that] into action.” And it was for this dance that the pair received 34 from the judges.
Following their performance, Carrie Ann took the time to apologize for any hurt she caused Danielle with her comment about her body.
“I would like to apologize for my words if they hurt you at all, because I didn’t mean that at all. You are small, but you do pack a punch, and that’s why I can say it, because I believe in you, OK?” Carrie Ann said.
However, Danielle admitted she “was not” upset by the comment, once again showing her strength and grace on the show.

However, as part of the dance’s critique, Carrie Ann had wonderful things to say about Danielle and Pasha.
“Contemporary is all about the emotion, it’s all about the storytelling—you told that story. I felt the chills,” the 57-year-old judge gushed, adding, “There’s that magic thing that happens in the air that we can all feel, that takes us into a place that’s not here. Thank you for the transport. Well done.”
Sadly, though, despite their high score, Danielle and Pasha were voted off the show.
Speaking after the elimination, the Boy Meets World actress said, “It’s meant everything. It has truly been life-changing, and every single moment, including this one, has been joyous.” Pasha also felt similarly, adding, “You are now my friend for life.”
