It feels like deja vu when it comes to Christian McCaffrey.

The 49ers running back and fantasy star once again has people worried after he was added to the injury report Thursday due to a calf injury. That means he is now questionable for Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

However, he is singing a different tune when he told reporters on Friday that the injury is “nothing serious” and that he feels good ahead of his team’s season-opener this weekend.

“Nothing serious,” McCaffrey told reporters.

“I feel great where I’m at. Unfortunately, when you have the injury history that I have, sometimes when you don’t practice, things get blown out of proportion. Like I said, I feel great.”

It’s hard to take his words seriously because he was saying the same things in 2024.

Just like in September 2025, Christian McCaffrey was also added to the injury report ahead of the season opener vs. the New York Jets.

Fans online couldn’t help but notice that in September 2024, he stated that his calf-Achilles injury was “not a concern for me.” He played four games in 2024.

This week, he is once again not concerned.
