Ushers are helping clear off seats here at Paycor Stadium ...The Bengals could be facing serious punishment from the NFL.

The NFL could punish the Cincinnati Bengals for doing their fans dirty in Sunday’s home game against the Baltimore Ravens at Paycor Stadium.

Snow filled the seats on Sunday in a game that the Cincinnati Bengals dropped 24-0. It simply wasn’t the response the fans expected following Joe Burrow’s worrisome and depressing press conference just a few days earlier.

Aside from wasting their money and afternoons to watch an embarrassing product on the field, Bengals fans at Paycor Stadium were forced to sit through chilly and uncomfortable conditions.

That’s largely because the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t bother removing snow from the seats. As noted by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, this was a clear violation of league policies. NFL rules outline the following:

“Each home club is responsible for having a snow removal plan in place and ensuring that its stadium has adequate snow removal equipment available. Snow and ice must be removed from the stadium before all games. This applies to the playing field, sidelines, seating bowl, aisles, pedestrian ramps, walkways, parking lots, etc. This also applies to the sidelines; snow may not be pushed into piles and remain against stadium walls so that it interferes with standard game or sideline operations.”

Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer contacted the NFL about the potential rule violation. Brian McCarthy, the NFL Vice President of Communications, claims there was no rule violation.


McCarthy explained that the Bengals had snow removed over the previous 48 hours and that it was overnight snowfall that covered the seats. He also claims that stadium employees accommodated the fans as needed.


One fan wrote: “The average profit for the Cincinnati Bengals on a home game is $5,500,000. Te average cost to clear the seats after a snow storm is between $48,000 to $150,000 based on man hours. Never forget this effort if you’re a fan of the @Bengals.”

Additionally, it appears they could benefit from a coaching change. And maybe GM Duke Tobin should be let go after constructing a mediocre roster.
