Something seemed off when Michael Jordan appeared on NBC’s NBA coverage Tuesday night. The basketball legend looked great in his suit and trademark smile, but fans noticed his eyes.
The 62-year-old, who recently joined NBC Sports as a special contributor, appeared in the second episode of his new segment “MJ: Insights to Excellence” with Mike Tirico. But instead of focusing on his interview, fans on social media began worrying about his health after looking at his eyes, which were unusually yellow.
Fans who tuned in between the network’s doubleheader started firing off posts within minutes. Many feared the six-time NBA champion might be battling jaundice or another illness, while others wondered if his lifestyle had caught up to him. It wasn’t the kind of attention the most famous man in basketball expected, actually, after getting back to TV again.

Twitter or X just exploded after the episode aired, with every fan giving their own theories.
“I need to know why Michael Jordan eyes so yellow,” one fan posted.
Another wrote, “Jordan eyes red as hell. Send him to the Mayo Clinic.”
While one user joked, “MJ got no white left in his eyes, man, they just red and yellow.”
This isn’t the first time fans have worried about Michael Jordan’s health. Last year, photos of him at a soccer game in Monaco went viral for the same reason, his eyes looked yellow. At the time, sources told DailyMail.com that Jordan was completely fine and just “getting older.” One insider said, “Mike is OK. He goes to the doctor. There’s nothing wrong with him.”
Even so, his new NBC appearance has brought those concerns back. Reports say Jordan felt “embarrassed” by last year’s viral reaction and doesn’t want people to think he’s “sick or weak.” The source added that he plans to “bounce back” in future appearances.
This isn’t the first time Jordan’s off-court life has caught attention, either. During The Last Dance, fans also noticed the yellow tint in his eyes, while Jordan opened up about fame, pressure, and his fear of “losing everything.”
Lately, he’s been busy sharing his honest thoughts on today’s NBA players. But right now, fans are just hoping the GOAT is healthy and doing well behind that legendary smile.
