Cooper DeJean Had a Memorable Week Following His Super Bowl Breakout

Philadelphia Eagles rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean made headlines during the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in February.

On what happened to be his 22nd birthday, DeJean delivered a standout performance by intercepting a pass from Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter and returning it for a touchdown — a key moment in the Eagles’ dominant win.

Since then, DeJean has been enjoying an exciting off-season, and the good times continued this past weekend.

On May 3, DeJean attended the 151st Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Despite a wet track, the race concluded in 2 minutes and 2.31 seconds, and the event drew a large crowd of notable figures from sports and entertainment.

While speaking with a reporter before the race, DeJean was informed that someone had expressed interest in meeting him.

“Someone said they want to hang out with you?” the reporter asked.

DeJean replied with a smile: “Me? Who said that? Kay Adams? I just saw her.”

The reporter responded, “Yes, she said she’d be up for a chat.”

DeJean’s lighthearted reply: “Alright, sounds good.”

Cooper DeJean Revealed Special Message He Got From Caitlin Clark During Interview With Kay Adams

Cooper DeJean and Caitlin Clark Share a Strong Iowa Connection

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean and WNBA star Caitlin Clark have a shared history from their time at the University of Iowa.

DeJean, one of the standout performers in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory in 2025, played for Iowa during the same period Clark made her mark on the basketball court.

Despite cheering for opposing teams in the big game — Clark is known to be a Kansas City Chiefs supporter — she reached out with a thoughtful gesture after the Eagles’ win.

During an appearance on Up and Adams with Kay Adams, DeJean shared: “She sent me a nice message congratulating me. That was really kind of her, especially knowing she supports the Chiefs.”
