Dave Portnoy and his ex-wife, Renee, may have separated eight years ago, but the Barstool Sports owner recently revealed that she still has access to his bank account.
Renee and Dave were married from 2009 to 2017. Though they haven’t been together for almost a decade, the couple isn’t officially divorced, as Portnoy revealed last year that a judge in Massachusetts denied their petition.
During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Portnoy revealed that Renee still has access to his bank account. Portnoy cited her “loyalty” to him when he was in a financial bind before Barstool Sports became a nine-figure empire
“She was there when we were living at the in-laws’ house. She was there when we couldn’t afford a hamburger. She was there for the grind…We kind of separated when we started making it, so she doesn’t get to enjoy any of that. To me, that’s not right. I’m a loyalty guy.”

Dave Portnoy added that his ex-wife has another man in her life and he wants “her to be happy.” Sharpe also asked Portnoy how he would feel if Renee wanted to spend some of that money on a lavish wedding.
Portnoy said he’d be “a hundred percent” cool with it, adding that they’re still best friends. His net worth is estimated to be around $150 million.
